3D-GRAM ® CONTRUST security patches for IDs

KRYPTEN has released 3D-GRAM ® CONTRUST photopolymer-based patches to protect paper and plastic identification documents.

The Einstein 100 patch with a 3D-GRAM® CONTRUST security feature is designed to protect paper-based identification documents in combination with a traditional holographic laminate. This is a baseless product made on a photopolymer, with a colour-changing visual feature. When the product is rotated 180°, a bright security effect is observed - a change in the colour of the image from red to green.

The 3D-GRAM® CONTRUST patch has high thermostable properties, therefore it easily withstands the process of lamination of a paper document at high temperatures and at the same time retains its brightness-contrast characteristics.

The thin information layer of the product is only about 15 microns, which allows it to be embedded under the laminate without image distortion. In turn, high adhesive properties and self-destruction prevent delamination, and also exclude the possibility of information substitution and falsification of the owner's data.

The Gabor 50 patch conveys a similar optical effect of changing the colours of the image when the element rotates, but is focused on protecting plastic identification documents. The features of the material and production technology meet the special requirements that apply to scurity elements for plastic documents. Excellent thermal stability allows the patch to withstand harsh baking modes of polycarbonate card layers without loss of optical properties. The element retains its visual characteristics when exposed to a temperature of about 200°.

The small thickness (15 microns) and the affinity of the patch and polycarbonate card materials ensure the solidity, inseparability of layers and protection of the document with an optically variable effect.
